VMware Cloud Foundation, vSphere, and Aria management, now part of Broadcom, supplied and supported by Techbee across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and the wider UAE.
Techbee is one of the leading VMware Cloud Solutions partners in Dubai, UAE. VMware became part of Broadcom in November 2023, and the acquisition has reshaped how virtualization software is packaged, licensed, and sold. Techbee helps businesses across Dubai navigate this transition, from initial architecture design through licensing and ongoing support.
VMware’s most prominent contributions to enterprise IT remain its hypervisors. A hypervisor is software that creates and runs virtual machines, and VMware offers two categories: Type 1 hypervisors, such as VMware ESXi, which run directly on server hardware without a host operating system underneath; and Type 2 hypervisors, such as VMware Workstation and Fusion, which run as an application on top of an existing operating system. VMware software presents a fully virtualized set of hardware to each guest operating system, virtualizing video, network, and disk controllers, and passing through USB, serial, and parallel devices. As a result, a VMware virtual machine becomes highly portable between physical hosts, since each host looks nearly identical to the guest running inside it.

For three decades, VMware built its reputation on perpetual software licensing: buy vSphere once, own it forever, and pay annual support to keep it current. That model ended in 2024. Broadcom eliminated perpetual licenses for new purchases entirely, and all VMware workloads, including vSphere, vSAN, NSX, and Aria, now move to subscription-only licensing. Broadcom also reduced VMware’s catalogue from more than 160 individual products, bundles, and editions down to four primary bundles, which changes how a Dubai business should scope a VMware environment from the outset.
Because VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) bundles vSphere, vSAN, NSX, and Aria together, an organization that only needs the hypervisor may now find itself paying for storage and networking capabilities it does not use. Techbee helps Dubai businesses assess whether a full VCF subscription, the lighter VMware vSphere Foundation (VVF), or standalone vSphere Standard or Enterprise Plus licensing best fits their actual workload, rather than defaulting to the broadest and most expensive bundle.
Licensing terms, core minimums, and bundle contents continue to evolve under Broadcom. Techbee confirms exact current terms with every quotation.
This product suite lets a user run multiple instances of x86 or x86-64 compatible operating systems on a single physical PC. VMware Workstation Pro is the flagship Type 2 hypervisor for Windows and Linux hosts, while VMware Fusion delivers comparable functionality for Intel and Apple Silicon Mac users, with full compatibility for virtual machines created by other VMware products. VMware Workstation Player offers a lighter, streamlined version of the same technology.
Following the Broadcom acquisition, VMware’s desktop hypervisor licensing has also changed, and Techbee confirms current entitlement terms for personal and commercial use at the time of quotation, since licensing conditions for these products have shifted more than once since 2023.
Techbee is a leading VMware ESXi partner in Dubai. As a Type 1, “bare metal” hypervisor, ESXi runs directly on server hardware rather than on top of a host operating system, which lets virtual machines access hardware resources with minimal computational overhead. This typically delivers stronger performance than a hosted, Type 2 approach. ESXi integrates with VMware vCenter Server, which provides centralized management, monitoring, and automation across an entire virtualized environment, and now forms part of the broader VMware Cloud Foundation architecture under Broadcom.
VMware previously offered the Workspace Portal as a self-service application store for workspace management; this has since evolved into VMware Workspace ONE, the current unified endpoint management and digital workspace platform. Techbee helps Dubai businesses evaluate current, actively supported VMware application management options rather than legacy products that have since been superseded.
Techbee also delivers VMware licensing and deployment to free zone companies, including those registered in DMCC, JAFZA, DAFZA, Dubai Internet City, Dubai Silicon Oasis, DIFC, RAK Free Trade Zone, SAIF Zone, and KEZAD. As a result, free zone tenants receive the same VMware licensing, deployment, and support terms as mainland customers across Dubai.
VMware licensing in Dubai is now subscription-based and priced per physical core, subject to a per-processor core minimum, which means hardware choices directly affect license cost. Techbee always issues a written quotation after confirming the exact core count, bundle (VCF, VVF, or standalone vSphere), and contract term a project needs.
Customers in Dubai increasingly compare VMware against alternatives such as Nutanix AHV and cloud-native virtualization options following the Broadcom licensing changes. Techbee gives an honest assessment of whether staying on VMware, consolidating onto denser hosts to reduce core-based licensing costs, or evaluating an alternative platform makes the most sense for a specific environment.
Techbee handles environment assessment, VCF or vSphere deployment, vMotion and cluster configuration, and licensing renewal management for every VMware environment in Dubai. After go-live, our support team monitors capacity, patching, and license compliance as the environment grows.
